Why 42% alcohol content?
Why 42% alcohol content? Gin under the microscope is essentially ethanol (from the redistillation of vodka), essential oils from botanicals (fruits, herbs, roots etc) and H2O (water!). 🥃👍So for a given botanical make up, each gin has a precise level of ethanol (alcohol content) and water which make it balanced. Many gins in the market in my view are over or under in their ethanol content and outside this optimal point, leading to an over or under compensation from the ethanol. 🤯🤔Personally, and regardless of balance, I also feel a gin with under 40% ABV doesnt give me enough kick...
